Signs & Banners

Vinyl Banner vs Retractable Banner vs Feather Flag — How to Choose

We print a lot of different sign formats, and the most common question we hear is: "Which one do I actually need?" The short answer depends on where it's going, how long it needs to last, and whether you'll move it around. Here's a plain-language breakdown.

Vinyl Banner

A vinyl banner is a large, flat printed panel — typically hung with metal grommets at the corners and edges. It's the most versatile format we offer. Use it indoors or outdoors, for one event or for months on end. Grand openings, storefronts, trade show backdrops, event signage, construction fencing — all of these work well with a vinyl banner.

Banners are priced by the square foot, so larger ones cost more but are still very cost-effective for the visibility they give you.

Retractable Banner

A retractable banner (also called a pull-up or roll-up banner) is a self-standing unit. The printed graphic rolls into a base housing for transport, then pulls up and locks into place for display. Setup takes under a minute.

These are the standard for trade shows, lobbies, reception areas, presentations, and anywhere you need a professional-looking display that travels easily. If you're going to a conference or setting up a booth, a retractable banner is almost always the right call.

Feather Flag

Feather flags are tall, flexible flags mounted on a pole with a ground stake or base. They move in the wind, which actually helps them attract attention from a distance. They're designed for outdoor use — parking lots, storefronts, car dealerships, outdoor markets, grand openings.

If you need something visible from the road or across a parking lot, a feather flag will outperform a flat banner for raw attention-grabbing. We offer them with different base options depending on whether you're putting them in grass, concrete, or a car mount.

A-Frame / Sidewalk Sign

An A-frame (also called a sandwich board) is a double-sided, self-standing sign that sits on the floor or sidewalk without any mounting hardware. It's the classic format for daily specials, directional signage inside a building, or drawing foot traffic into a storefront.

A-frames are practical and reusable. We print the inserts — you can replace them later if your message changes.

Backdrop

A backdrop is a large fabric or vinyl panel designed for event photography and trade show booths. The most common use is a step-and-repeat — a large branded panel positioned behind speakers, at photo opportunities, or in front of a branded booth. They're often 8'–10' wide and 8' tall.

If you need a professional branded background for an event, press release photo, or trade show booth, a backdrop is what you want. We offer them with and without a stand.
